​If you arrive by plane

Naples Capodichino Airport is located just a few kilometers from the city center, on the eastern side of Naples. The airport is served by both domestic and international flights from most major European cities.
The easiest ways to reach the Stazione Zoologica are by taxi or public bus, both available directly outside the arrivals terminal.

 

• Bus: The Alibus shuttle service connects the airport with the Central Railway Station in Piazza Garibaldi. From there, take Metro Line 2 towards Pozzuoli and get off at Piazza Amedeo Station. The Stazione Zoologica is approximately a 10-minute walk from the station.

         The Alibus runs every 15 minutes from 6:00 a.m. until midnight. Tickets cost €5 and can be purchased directly from the                 driver.

 

• ​Taxi: To reach the Stazione Zoologica “Anton Dohrn” in the Villa Comunale area, you may ask the driver to apply the predetermined fixed fare. Click here to download the official taxi fare list..

 
If you arrive by train

Naples Central Railway Station (Napoli Centrale) is located in Piazza Garibaldi and is connected to major national and international rail routes.

​

• To reach the Stazione Zoologica, take Metro Line 2
  from Piazza Garibaldi Station in the direction of Pozzuoli and get off at Piazza Amedeo Station (third stop).

         The Stazione Zoologica is about a 10-minute walk from the station.

​

• Alternatively, from Naples Central Railway Station (Napoli Centrale), take Metro Line 1 from Garibaldi Station towards Piscinola and get off at Municipio Station. From there, follow the signs to Metro Line 6 and take the train towards Mostra. Get off at San Pasquale Station. The Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, located in the Villa Comunale, is in front the station.

 

Tickets for Naples Metro Line 2 (operated by Trenitalia) cost €1.50 for a single ride.

Single ticket for bus, trolleybus, and tram (Level 1): €1.30   (operated by ANM)

Single ticket for metro Line 1 and Line 6: €1.50   (operated by ANM)

Integrated tickets, valid on ANM and Trenitalia (FS) services and other forms of public transport, are available for €1.80 (90-minute validity), as well as daily passes.

Tickets can be purchased at stations, from ticket vending machines, or via mobile apps.
